Attar vs perfume: what is the difference?
Attar is perfume oil with no alcohol. Here is how it wears differently from a spray, and which to choose.

An attar is a concentrated perfume oil. A perfume is usually the same kind of scent mixed with alcohol so that it can be sprayed. That one difference changes how each one wears.
Attar
- Has no alcohol, so it sits close to the skin and warms slowly.
- Is applied with a touch of the applicator, not sprayed.
- Changes gently through the day as it warms on your skin.
Perfume
- Is sprayed, so the scent spreads further around you.
- Smells strongest in the first minutes, then softens.
- Is quick and easy to wear every day.
How to wear an attar
- Touch the applicator to your wrists, behind the ears and on the collar.
- Do not rub your wrists together; let it settle.
- Start with a small size such as 3 ml, and move up when you find your scent.
